Wedding Favors using Cricut Cartridge

Hey Y'all,
I got to do more blogging say Mema!!!! So, I thought I might show my favorite folk my latest little project.  I did some really quick but quite cute wedding shower favors for a co-worker.  The wedding shower had a tropical theme, so she wanted the blues, greens, etc.  I took a look at tropical picture and I saw blues, greens, yellows, and oranges; hence my colour scheme.  It looked a little rainbowish when they are all uniformed but if you mix the colours up they look tropicalish.  Unfortunately, I did not get photo of them all mixed up together (oops, sorry).  I filled the favors with LifeSavers tropical blend candies (how fitting). I used some JoAnn's papers-Candy Shop and Minty Fresh.  The white cardstock is Michaels and let me just say and nice and sturdy.  It worked out perfectly for the wedding favors.  The ribbon is from JoAnn's. I used sheer ribbon with colours that match the paper.  The Cricut cart was "Tie the Knot".  Enough of my chitter-chatter, below is a picture of the finished favors.  Dang too bad I  can't find a challenge to put these in!  Never-U-Mind the mess in the back, that is the sign of an artist at work (lol).

See y'all later, off to create more magic in the stamp lab,  Joyce

Mojo Coming Back

Good Morning Party People!  Whoo! it has been a little while since I've blogged; my apologies.  I've been having my own personal CHA look see.  I went to look in all my favorite online and physical stores to see what goodies I might need to purchase for up coming projects.  So far, I have purchase goob-gobbs more Nesties and drum roll please (Blllllllllll) I finally got a Grand Calibur!!!!!!-watch out now!  Hmmm... let's see what else? Oh yeah, I've been  recovering from Mardi Gras in New Orleans-OMGosh, lawdy, lawdy! Now, I am currently recovering from a sinus infection gone south down to the chest, glad it almost gone.   And for some AWESOME news- I have been recommended and selected for my first DT!
Thank you to Mema, Chana http://www.redoralee.blogspot.com/, and RJ for the exciting opportunity.  Of course, now I know I've got to really put the pedal to the metal!  The site blog is being created as we speak, I will wait to reveal the name until after the go live, so stay tuned; we have some pretty talented folks on the team.  Okay, with that being said, I'm back in my stamp lab and ready to get it going.  I thoutht I would switch it up a bit and use one of my cricut machines.  One of my favorite times of the year or my favorite holidays is Easter.  He is risen and everything comes to life with the beginning of Spring. Because it is Easter, my creation had to be elegant but had to say a lot softly.  I hope you enjoy the card, details below.

Heart Box

Okay, now this project ( and yes this was a projectttttt), is another Beate Johns tut http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/news/comments.php?id=1382_0_1_0_C  I checked this link twice just to make sure it would work and it does.  The hyperlink will take you right to the project.  You will need some time to complete the project (it might seem a bit long) but it was worth it.  I recommend looking at the video and downloading the hardcopy instructions.   I also modified my box by adding additional chipboard hearts like the one on the inside top to the inside base and to the inside top.  The inside top I put two chipboard hearts and two for the inside base (the part that will hold your candy or whatever you choose to put in it).  I forgot to add the hinges (laced fabric) so having the two hearts on the inside top helps create a top that fix securely within the heart base walls.  Again this is my demo, I would like to try an antiquish, renaissancish, old worldish type box next. Hmmm...maybe an oval shape?

The paper is from SU Paisley Pedals, I used chipboard from Colorbox. I bought this chipboard a while ago ( I knew it would come in handy someday). It comes 30- 12x 12 sheets in the pack and 3 colours black, creamish, and kraft or tanish-gray. I used the Nestabilities scalloped and classic hearts, the flowers are from WOC.  The blue paper is some miscellaneous cs from my stash, the ribbon is SU whisper white satin 5/8", the ink is SU Baha Breeze. The candy is some kind of cinnamon hard candy.

Okay folks that's it for now on the finished projects and cards, I gotta go to bed... Another nearly finished card coming soon.  Also, will be teaming up with Mema www.memascrafts.blogspot.com for a blog grab bag. This year I  plan to personally sponsor couple 2-3 challenges of my own.  Now, if I'm sponsoring all by my lonesome, y'all know you goan really have to BRING IT!   Here are some hints- one will be Copics, One will be Magnolia, another will be a colour challenge, one will be a name challenge (more details to be worked out on this one) and I haven't decided what the last one will be.  I won't have one every month, I'll try every couple months.  But stay tuned you won't want to  miss them.

Have good night, blog soon,  Joyce (SS)

Side Step Card

I stayed up late recently, determined to make a card; but knowing it had to be a quick one.  So, I got on the "You" and found the "Side Step Card" tutorial done by Beate Johns of Split Coast Stampers. Really easy and quite cute.   This card was made with all scraps (we always do demos with scraps), you know how we hate to cut up our "pretty" paper (lol).   Well here's my trial run, not too shabby for a first draft.  I had a renegade hair that night and thought I would do a baby card! Can you believe it?! I know... me too! Even my stampin' BFF (Mema) was taken aback by the fact that I did something related to a baby.

I used my Cricut Cart Create-A-Critter to make the lil' chick.  The CS is a Debbie Mumm PP made especially for JoAnn Fabric stores; this is an old PP but I've still seen it around. It's called Nursery Rhyme. I think there is boy pack and a girl pack.

Few New Projects

Hi Stampers,
Just thought I would check in to see how things are going with everyone and give a peek at some of the quick projects I've worked on during this past week.  This first group of pix  are of a gift box card.  I call it a candy box cuz that's about all you're getting in there unless you increase the dimensions (have at it). The template for this card can be found at Wenches Kort & Papir http://wenchespapirverden.blogspot.com/  Her version is O-T-C (off the chain)!  Since this was demo, I didn't feel the need to be O-T-T (over the top) as Memas calls it (lol).
