Forever Young Birthday Card

Hi All,
I'm back again! Today, I want to share a card that I made for a co-worker's b-day (Happy Birthday Di!).  I saw the card while surfing for ideas on Google Images. I hadn't played with my Cricut in awhile and I love that Forever Young cart, so I thought I would use it for this project.  My inspiration came from Billie over at ScrapbookPal.com .  This was a card Billie did back in August of 2012.  I totally love her layout and thought it would be perfect for Di's card.  I developed the inside myself.  I loved the paperline (another great Hobby Lobby find).  The gift card packaging was kind of large so, I couldn't go with the standard way of making a pocket.  I used one of Kathy Orta's ideas for creating a pocket that would tolerate some bulkiness.  I think the card turned out nice and it went really quick too!  Not a lot fluff but still very nice.   Well, here are a few pictures; I hope you enjoy them and feel inspired to break out any electronic cutting machine you haven't played with in awhile... I haven't entered any challenges in a bit; today I have a little extra time; so I'm on the challenge prowl.  Okay, I changed my mind, I now remember why I stopped entering challenges...It's just too much work!! I'll have to take my chances that folks will find my work on the net and come see, just like I do.  Have a great weekend everybody.

Blocks Card

Hey my favorite folks!
It's been awhile but you know I can't leave you for too long.  Today, I want to share a card that was inspired by Papercrafter 45  and Lesia from Memas Crafts called a "Blocks Card".  The card looks complicated when you watch the video on You Tube but it really is super easy; you can even include a base (which I did not), to sit it on as a display.  I also chose to stand my card differently because I wanted to make it hold flowers.  This was a quick, simple and fun little card.   I hope you will be inspired to give it a try.  Until next time...

Congratulations On Your New Home Card

I hope all is well for everyone or as well as can be expected in light of recent events.  Let us all keep in prayer those victims of the Boston Bombings and explosions in the small Texas community of West, Texas.  There is never a good time for tragedy, it is always compounded with sorrow when it come so close together.

It is late on a Friday night but I want to share a card I did for a co-worker who recently bought her first home.  I used the Kaisercraft- The Lake House 6.5 x 6.5 paper pack and the Marianne Designs Victorian House die. I've had the house for a few months. I was so excited for the opportunity to use it.  The Lake house paper pack fit perfectly for the project.  Other items used include Stampin' UP! card pedal die, "congratulations and celebration rubber stamps, Spellbinders Die D-Lites Wrought Iron Fence, small victorian key trinket from one of the stamp shows, and some seam binding from my favorite local scrapbooking store The Crafty Scrapper .  Well, I gotta keep this short and sweet.  I am volunteering at the March of Dimes walk tomorrow.  Gotta be bright and chipper for the babies!!   I hope you enjoy the card, have good night...

Old Jalopy Mini-Mini Album

Hi Everyone,
New in the now... I haven't been crafting much lately, well not near as much as I use to and that is bothering me.   It bothers me because papercrafting is my peace.  I feel like we put waaaaay too much stuff as a priority over ourselves.  So this weekend, I worked on a  project that I have restarted, what is now twice (and still have not accomplised the end goal).  The project is too small for it's intended used; therefore, I'll just keep this one and think of something else for my friend.  My friend recently lost her father and of course she was a daddy's girl.   So, I wanted to make her something small she can keep on her desk.  I made this mini album, which is truly a mini-mini album.  There is not much you can do with it, so I don't think this would be a good gift.   Oh well... back to the drawing board again.  I was checkin' out my favorite mini album designer Kathy Orta over at Paper Phenomenon and I may have possibly (hopefully, help me Lawd ) found a mini that would be really nice and wouldn't take long to put together.  I am going to do a little more research on maybe get started this week.  In the mean time, you can have a look at the mini mini I made using the Tim Hotlz
Old Jalopy die.  I wasn't happy with it at first but then I started adding more and more and more stuff to it and now; I am pleased.  Because this started out a "manly" project, I wanted to see if I could refrain from foofin' it up.  I had to two goals in mind one was no flowers, ribbons, girl bling, nothing that would make this unmanly!  Y'all let me just say, I thought I was going to have to take up smoking temporarily to get through this.  NO flowers or ribbons (eeek)!  My second goal to finish the project this weekend.  Okay, now the pressure was on.  but not to fret through, I had to GIRL UP! and do the darn thang!  And because I am a girl- I CAN DO ANYTHING (so, that's what my momma told me and momma knows best; I need a hi-5 from all the momma's!).
Now, let's  talk about the mini-mini: I cut the shapes from medium wt chipboard, the patterned paper line is called "Poetic Postage" from Hobby Lobby.  It a really nice paper pack, it has raised glossy embossing. It's perfect for a guy project.  If you use chipboard to cut your jalopy shape, the front of the car will face the left.
I used Hardware Findings and a piece of leather to make the key.  The wings are from Fab Scraps, I embossed them in areas but not completely.  The tag on the front "Carte Postage" was cut from the paper pack, I used a Spellbinders pennant die to cut it out.  On back I used Tim Holtz gears and a wooden pennant from Prima.  Car 2, some old measuring tape that I grunged up and cut,  more Tim Holtz gears.  Car 3, I fussie cut the chipboard "Joy" (that was tough), the frame is from Michaels (couple years ago). The "stop watch" was from JoAnn's (in the trinkets area), I adhered it with Glossy Accents.  Car 4, has a sticker from a local dollar store. The sticker line is "Nostalgiques" by Stickopotamus or Sticko.  I used a Tim Holtz crown and some Rub-n-Buff to tone it down some.  I created a small little journaling tag, used the stamp-off technique for the lines and the fleur-de-lys and used the Stampin' UP! ticket punch.   Car 5, I created a journaling tag with the Tim Holtz Mariner's Compass mini mask on the front and the inside of the tag, tucked it behind the fence (JoAnn's), the Paper holder is from Tim Holtz.  I used the Spellbinder's Decorative Label 4 (gold) to create the sign on the fence "Enjoy the Journey", I used my computer to create the circular formation, printed out on card stock, UTEE'd it three times and backed with some black thin chipboard for stability.  Car 6, the sticker is again from the dollar store as above.  What I was trying to make look like "Texas Long Horns" is a piece of Creative Imaginations chipboard that I inked and used one of  Tim Holtz's tickets.  I punched wholes with large eyelets, and used Tim Holtz chain with link ends to close it.  Everything was inked with Tim Holtz's distress ink-Vintage Photo (my favorite).   Whew...I'm tired now.  I hope you enjoy the photos.  If you have any questions please e-mail me at  mszbeasley99@att.net.  Have a grrrt week!

Happy Valentine's Day to Ewe

Howdy my people!
Happy Superbowl Sunday and congratulations to the people and players of the Baltimore Ravens.
Great job Joe Flacco and Ray Lewis and the rest of the team.  Outstanding coaching on all teams (offense, defense and special teams).  We'll be there next year-GO SAINTS!!!

I wanted to make a quick post before I turn in for the night.  The next exciting challenge at 613 Avenue Create is up and running.  For the next few challenges at 613... the themes will be Anything Goes with a twist or an option.
The current  challenges twist is "Love".  It can be any person, place, or thing you love and any colour.
Since I'm such a traditional babe...I decided to stick with the traditional colours of red and white with a few drops of supporting colour throughout. Okay, plus red is my favorite colour, so any opportunity I get to use it; I am so there.  I chose the "free"image from Bugaboo Stamps, which is the cute lil' Ewe.   He also comes with a greeting that I used.  I needed a sentiment for the inside, so I made up one that kind of goes with the outside.   The supplies I used: patterned paper by Canvas Corp, CS is from my stash, and Copic Markers.  I kept this one really simple, no fluff.  Most of the time that's all you need to do to let someone know you care... keep it simple.  I hope you enjoy the card, thank you for stopping by and don't forget to stop over at 613 Avenue Create to join in on the fun!  Good luck!!
