Bo Bunny Enchanted Tea Light Candle Card

Hey Everyone,
Hope the week is going well for yas.  Mine is okay so far, can't really complain.  The best part of my day is coming home to play in the stamp room; always looking forward to that.  This past weekend I had the opportunity to look at some cards and while I was browsing, I found this really cool card.  The card is called a Tea Light Candle Card.  I saw it on TracysTreasures24 You Tube channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joGqASqaif8.  Her and her daughter made some very nice candle cards gifts (thumbs up T and baby T).  Tracy saw the card on Leonie's blog http://www.youtube.com/user/MyPassionForPaper?email=comment_received#p/u/3/GynIRooZR6Q . Leonie gives the details of how show she made her beautiful tea light candle card. Both of these ladies got the instructions from Stampartic DT member Marianne http://stampartic.blogspot.com/2010/09/tea-light-card.html .  Many, many thanks to all 3 ladies.   Well of course I had to give it a try.  It wasn't  hard at all, even though the measurements are in centimeters it was still very easy and straight forward.  I made a demo first (just to be on the safe side), it came out perfect.  I then decided I was brave enough to cut my beautiful, beautiful Bo Bunny Enchanted paper.   Instead of 6 tea light candles I put in 8 of the Snickers mini candies; they fit perfectly.   Here are some photos of my finished project.  One thing I will caution you on; I used printed paper for the card instead of using cardstock  and using the printed paper for the matting.  After handling the project so much the score lines started tearing.  I plan to make a couple more, I will use the cardstock for the base of the card as Marianne, Leonie, and Tracy did; it makes the card durable.
The Bo Bunny paper (if you haven't had a chance to see it) has glazed embossing and sugar frosted embossing on it.  It is simply gorgeous!!  I really love this card. I hope you'll give it try.

PS name change comin' stay tuned

Here is  a little quick shot, this is a digi stamp (can't remember where I got it) but I started playing with coloured pencils and Gamsol (Mineral Spirits).  I bought my mineral spirits at Wal-Mart 16oz for about $7.  CAUTION: you must be in a well ventilated area, this stuff is strong and can act fast on your lungs and central nervous system.  I poked a hole in the silver safety seal and just dapped my cloth ( you only need a small just barely damp area).  I had to put the cloth in a sealed container when I wasn't using it.  THIS STUFF IS STRONG!! BE CAREFUL!!!!!   Okay, I'm done being a nurse now, on to my demo.

I used Primsacolor Pencils (love them)! and Mineral Spirits (Gamsol is a brand name for those who did not know). Of course I went to the store looking for Gamsol (not knowing that is just mineral spirits)  Let me just say, the spirits is very much alive in this stuff! I am going to try a Maggie using the PCPs.   I hope everyone had a peaceful MLK day. It's back to work tomorrow.

Have a good night, toodles for now, J.

Two new cards

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody,
It's been a minute so I thought I should post my latest cards.  I'm going through Maggie withdrawal, waiting for my new stamps to come in.  Although, it's not like I don't have other Maggies I can work on.
My last couple of cards are just regular cards, not a lot of fluff, and no Maggie.   Also, I went to a couple of stamps shows over the last few weeks; however, couldn't buy anything.  I kinda went over budget on some other stampin' stuff. But... I got to look at all the neat stuff.  Some of the neat tools I saw I believe I already have.  I have this area in my stamp room that I keep all the tools and neat gadets that I didn't have quite enough time to figure out yet.  I go to the stamps shows and write down the names of the tools and what the demonstrator used it for and check to see if I have that tool.  If I have it, I'll go to their website to see if I can learn from there, if not it's YTU (You Tube University; where learning if life long or at least until you get tired-LOL)
Hey did you notice the change from scrapbook room to stamp room.  I have finally given in to it, I'm a stamper, not so much a scrapbooker (now of course since I said that, I'll have the itch to scrapbook). Well enough of my cacklin'  here are the two cards I finished.

On this card, I was just playin around with some Just-Rite Stamps and it turned out pretty good, so I thought I would make it a card.  The paper is Bazzill (red and black), the red paper is embossed with tiny dots, the white paper is Paper Studios. I used the classic oval nesti lg, I used the outside rim to make the red oval mat, and then backed both with the classic scalloped oval lg.  The large fleurs are stamped using aDenamiDesign stamp (no name) but it's one of their popular stamps.  I also  used a tiny, tiny leaf stamp which came in a set of four from Rubber Stamp Tapestry (SHO20034-Dotted Heart Border). It's one of those layered stamp sets I'll try to post a picture of the stamp set and what I did with it later. I used my Copics to colour the roses, Moment Tux Blk, SU Basic Blk to ink the edges of the oval and the ribbon is from my stash.  The inside border was cut using my Cricut Imagine & Gypsy. The inside sentiment is from the SU stamp set Bring On the Cake (121958, this is a current stamp).

Be back later with more stuff...
