Altenew Persian Motifs and Zig Clean Color Markers

Good Evening and thanks for stopping by.   Today, I want to share a card I did using an Altenew Stamp and die bundle called Persian Motifs, you can find information on the stamp set and or the bundle here. 

If you just want to take a look at some of the other awesome products they have start here. 

The is an open/outlined stamp, great for whatever kind of colour media you like…dye, water colour, pencils, crayon, etc.   Not only does it have the larger images, but it also has what I call smaller space filling images as well.  You can make it a simple quiet and elegant card or a bold say it loud card.  It fits most if not all occasions from sympathy to a party.  I chose to just let someone know how incredible they are, just because.   I saw the technique I used on a Jennifer McGuire YouTube video; you can find it here. 

For my card I used some Recollection #110 Ivory cardstock and some navy-blue cardstock to build the base.  For my focal point I used some Arches Cold Press Water coloured paper.  ***Heads-up*** Arches CP is excellent to work with, but it is quite pricey!  I started by added a water coloured wash background.  I dried the background and then I embossed the image onto the background using my Versa Mark pad.  I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to colour the image.  I used one of the sentiments from the stamp set and embossed it with some Fine Details White embossing powder and I punched it out using a retired Stampin’ UP! Label Punch.  To finish the card, I popped it up on some 2 mm fun foam.

BONUS TAG, Tag 26

Well, I made it back for the last tag.  This is I believe the ending of Tracey McNeely’s-The 25 Days of Christmas Tags for 2019 .  A huge thank you again to Tracey McNeely for putting this event together, securing the sponsors, and maintaining the posting site and the social media access.  This is a tremendous undertaking and we cannot give you enough kudos and thanks.  Know that without a shadow of a doubt you are very much appreciated.   Thank you to the sponsors for the donated gifts and to the amazingly talented design teamers for the incredible inspiration day after day.

For my last tag, I did a smaller scale version of a super-sized tag I did a couple of year ago.  Click here to see the super-sized version.   Here’s what I used to make Tag 26: Avery Elle’s Double Stitched Rectangles, Tim Holtz Scribbles & Splats, Holiday Greens, Reindeer & 25 Set, DCWV Glitzy Glitter 6x6 cardstock stack.  The patterned papers are scraps from the original tag, so I can't tell you the manufacture.  I used Silver embossing powder, Stampin’ UP! Come to Bethlehem (retired) stamp set- I only used the sentiment, STAZ-ON Opaque-Cotton White Pigment Ink, Acetate sheet, and foam tape.  

The theme of the tag is a Winter Wonderland.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019- Day 16

Good evening my crafty friends.  We are on day 16 of Tracy McNeely’s The 25  Days of Christmas Tags.  Today’s sponsor is one of my favorites-WAFFLE FLOWER! Some of my inspiration came from design team member Carol, who did a series of tags.  Click here to see her adorable tag sets.  I really like the Polar Bears with the patterned background paper.  Try as I did, I could not find anything in my craftlab that would even come close to Carols cutesy Polar Bears with the patterned paper.  I decided to create my own “sort-of” background patterned paper…  I made a couple circle wreaths on piece of paper but didn’t like it as a whole-it was a fail (sad face).  I put a die down on the newly made patterned cardstock and like the little part of the wreath that fit into the die borders (super happy face) …and from there a tag was born.  So, thanks Carol for getting my creative juices flowing!

This is a tiny little tag.  The dimensions are 1 5/16^th x 2 9/16^th, really tiny, but cute! These are the supplies I used to create my tag: Recollections white cardstock, Stampin’ UP! Tiny Tags (flourish), Just Rite Clear Christmas Mini Tags (sentiment), Avery-Elle’s Double Pierced Rectangles dies, DeNami Designs Petit Fours, My self created circled design template,  Altenew’s Crisp Dye Inks-Crimson, Bamboo, Parrot, and Olive, I punched a hole with my Crop-A-Dile, and used some red twine to finish the job!

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019- Day 13

Hello All,

For my day 13 tag, I was once again inspired by Carol.  A pretty little Christmas Tree stamped on a plain white background, one in red and one in green. You can find her tags here.

The supplies I used for my tag- Avery-Elle’s Stitched Rectangles, Stampin Up retired stamp set Evergreen, Stampin Up ink Handsome Hunter also retired, Color Box white pigment ink, and some white seam binding ribbon.   I stamped the tree, then used my pigment ink to stamp the Silent Night overlay, then I heat embossed it.  Quick, clean, simple, precious…works for me.  Well, mon amis that is it for tonight.   Thank you for stopping by and I hope you’ll visit again soon.

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 Day- 7

Greetings to All!  And welcome to day 7 of The 25days of Christmas Tags hosted by Tracey McNeely.   Today, my tag was inspired by Anglea Conrad who is designing for Sunny Studio. You can check out her tags here.  While all of them are so very cute, it was Tag set #4 that inspired me the most.  Most of the colours in that tag set are non-traditional…pink, light green, light blue.  I don’t think I’ve done too many Christmas projects in non-traditional colours so I thought I would take on the challenge.  OMGosh! And a challenge it was!  It was a challenge because I had to create many of the elements/items.

First, I did not have the base she started with, but I liked the look, so I had to create one, almost from scratch.  And so, it began… To make my base tag I used Spellbinders (SB) scalloped and classic squares.  I used my Stampin’ UP! (SU) retired “Mat Pack”  to do all the piercing. Yep! I pierced each hole.   I took some Recollections (Michael’s brand) blue/green polka-dot paper and attached it to some white cardstock to make it sturdy. I used my Cricut Maker to create my hat, mitten, and the little wave on the cap. I used a SU ¾” circle punch for the sentiment. The sentiment is from…you guessed it…JustRite Clear Christmas Mini Tags stamp set. I used some Altenew Sea Glass crisp ink to stamp the “Let It Snow” and popped it up with a pop dot.  To finish tag #7, I added Wink of Stella to the sentiment and the snowflakes on the mittens, placed a pearl in the center of the snowflake, punched a hole at the top, and added some 1/8” satin pink ribbon.  This tag took my most of the day, but that was because of trial and error before I got things the way I wanted.  I really like how it turned out.  Would I do it again…YES! The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019- Day 5

Happy Friday! and welcome back.  It is day 5 of The 25 Days of Christmas Tags hosted by Tracey McNeely and friends.  For more information and to join in on the fun click here.  Today’s sponsor is Reverse Confetti (RC).  The RC DT tags are so darn cute!  My tag was inspired by Kathy Schweinfurth, Lisa Henke, and Olga Matyushevskaya. Click the their names to go to their shaker tag post.  These ladies did “shaker tags”, just cutie-cute overload!  I think I’ve only made one shaker anything in my crafting career, so I thought it would be a good tag to try.   The supplies I used to create my little tag are: Michaels (Recollections) white cardstock and clear acetate, JoAnn’s red cardstock, JustRite Clear Christmas Mini Tags stamp set, Spellbinders Heirloom Reflections Ornament dies, silver trim (sticker), Stampin UP ticket punch (retired), silver elastic cord, micro-beads in red, green, and white, Silver Detail embossing powered, and a little Wink-of-Stella.  The micro-beads are very staticy (is that even a word? Noooo it is not!), so I created the well using foam tape plus I added some glossy accents.   Check out my little sparkling shaker tag below. Let’s go to the Hop! Today’s tag was inspired by Jennifer Jackson’s Shiny Deer Tags-they are soooo cute!  To see Jennifer's tag click here. 

I love the buffalo check with the red accent.  I used a Stampin UP! Stamp set called Tiny Keepsakes (150460) as my background, Tim Holtz’s movers and shapers Reindeer and 25 set, Tim Holtz Holiday Green, JustRite Clear stamp set Christmas Mini Tags, Die-Namics Stitched Basic Edges, the sentiment was stamped using Sweet Stamps White Dye Inkpad, and a piece of Jute added to tie it all together.  I was going for the vintage chalkboard rustic look.   I love, love, love the red on top of the check.   Well, that is it for tonight folks.  Chat again tomorrow.  Until then, here are a couple of pics of the final tag.  Correct email address: mepc99@att.net

The 25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019- Day 1

Hey Everyone,

The supplies I used to create my Tag 1 include: Altenew’s background stamp “Pinstripe”, Altenew’s Crisp Dye Inks-Crimson, Heart Beat, and Vineyard Berry.  I cut out a simple tag, a layered wreath, and the Ho Ho Ho using my Cricut Maker.  The sentiment “Merry Christmas” I embossed at the bottom using some fine detail white embossing powder.  The sentiment came from the Stampin’ UP!  Come to Bethlehem stamp set (retired).  I popped the Ho Ho Ho up with some foam tape, added some red blingy flat-back pearls for my berries, and finished it off with a little ribbon from the stash.  I love, love, love how the tag turned out.  See you at the hop…lol.  Unfortunately, when I enter the challenges it will not allow me to change my e-mail address.  The correct e-mail address is mepc99@att.net.

Lady Kre's Card Set Saturday Series-Christmas Cards

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to my blog.  Today, I am sharing a set of cards I did for Lady Kre’s Card Set Saturday series.  I was challenged to make 3 quick and simple cards.  I struggled a little bit with making simple cards because, I don’t normally make clean and simple cards.  It was a good exercise to remind me that sometimes you just need to keep it simple!  It also gave me an opportunity to make some much needed Christmas Cards ( I made 2 of each card).  Every year I say I’m going to make AND send out some Christmas Cards but I never seem to get there, so thanks Lady Kre!   I used a couple of MoJo Monday Sketches and one sketch I created on my own.  Other items I used to make the cards were:

Spring Eclipse Card

Hello everyone,

Today I am sharing my March DT inspiration for EclecticEllapu.  The theme this month is “Spring is coming”.   I decided to do an Eclipse card.  You can find a number of inspirational cards using this technique on Pinterest and You Tube.   The supplies I used were: 110# CS white for the base card, Stampin UP Always Artichoke for the mats and the 65# white cardstock for the focal point.  I cut the letters out on my Cricut Explore Air 2- I used the Plantin School Book cartridge.  I used Stampin UP Stampin Write Markers Amethyst, Artichoke, and Chocolate Chip to colour the flowers and the stamp set was also from Stampin Up- Water Color Trio (I think this one is long since retired).   I made a matching envelope using my We R Memory Keepers Punch Board.  The letters are popped up using foam squares.

Anything with a Bow!

Wow! where did October go!!!  

Just a real quick post to let you know about the November brag challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and to make an announcement, be sure to read to the end!  The pink team's November challenge theme is "Anything with a Bow".  The purple team's theme is "Let Sparks Fly".  For my project, I chose to make some cute little party favor bags and boxes.  They are just cute, cute, cute with or without a bow.   To make these lovely little bags and boxes, I used some Stampin' UP! products,  like the scallop punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, some (retired) Designer Series Paper, some Old Olive grosgrain ribbon (retired), and some of the 1/8" gold with white trim ribbon (still available).  I followed the You Tube tutorial from Dannie Graves of Dannie's Designs for the for the largest bag.  For the "4 You" bag you can find the You Tube tutorial on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and for the little wedding favor box you can find it on You Tube Sam Donald's tutorial.   I use to sell Stampin' UP! years ago.  I took a lengthy break and I've missed so much that I decided to join Team Stampin' UP! again.   I am in the process of setting up my website and getting things in place, so watch for the up coming announcements.

Crafting with Friends

Howdy crafty peeps,
     A really quick post for you. Today I am sharing a Tag done by one of my new crafting friends, Vanessa.   Vanessa used the Prima Doll stamp "Taylor".  She paper pieced the doll's clothing using some retired Stampin' UP! 6x6 In-Colour cardstock. I love it! Great colour flow and spacing.  Vanessa is learning her way with alcohol inks.  She is starting with Prima alcohol markers and I believe she even used a little bit of Copic marker in her project.  Way-to-go Vanessa...keep up the great work! Thanks for sharing your talents with us.

Happy Paper Crafting New Year!

Hello everybody,
     Well (big sigh)...It's a new year. Another year we are blessed beyond measure to be able to create and share new and incredible paper goodies.  I was just thinking, the first month is almost gone and I haven't blogged a thing! Oh my! I decided I'd better get going, if I planned to meet my goal of blogging at least once or twice a month. Though I haven't blogged since November 2015, I have been a busy lil' bee.  If it's not my actual job of being a medical review nurse, then I've been busy in my crafting studio (yes, I've changed from calling it a lab to a studio...sounds more chic-lol).   Hmmm (tapping my chin)...let's see... I've made several cards using dies from my favorite folks Spellbinders, I've watched a lot of Becca from Amazing Paper Grace video's and made some of her cards, I finished one of at least five mini-albums to scrap my European vacation memories, I've played with my Minc Machine (thank you to my Scrappin BFF Lesia from Mema's Crafts), and today I finished a folio album tutorial by Ginger Ropp of My Sister Scrapper...whew!   So, the folio is actually my first project started and completed for 2016.  I'll show you the cards that I worked on first and then I'll do later a post for the folio.

The first card I cased from Becca Feeken, it uses her Lacey Tiers die, Spellbinders Times Rectangles, Foundations Victorian Iris (color) card stock, Recollections Cream 110# card stock, Spellbinders Nested Lacey Pennants, Recollections gems stones/brads, Wild Orchid Flowers, cream seam binding, greeting is from JustRite Stampers "Ever After Antique Labels One", sentiment is from Stampin' Up stamp set "God's Blessings" (this one may be retired), foam tape, and ink is by Stampin Up Bordering Blue (retired).

 

 

This card was inspired by Lesia from Mema's Crafts.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure where she got the idea or layout from. In this card I used Spellbinders Heirloom Legacy die, Heartfelt Creations "Burst of Splendor" 12 x 12 paper pad, Recollection cream cardstock (110#), greeting is JustRite Stampers' Large Fancy Sentiment, the sentiment from Ki Hampton Art, no name but the catalog number is SC0585,the ink is Stampin Up's Mossy Meadow (new color) #133645, and some foam tape. 

 

 

Card #3 was inspired by Marisa, who also used Becca Feeken's Lacey Tiers.  Additional products I used for this card are: Want-2-Scrap pearls, Stampin Up Very Vanilla satin 5/8" ribbon (retired), Wild Orchid Craft Ivory Cherry Blossoms, Textured Green card stock from JoAnn's, Recollection cream card stock (110#),  Prima patterned papers from an old 12 x 12 pack called "Fairy Flora", the greeting and sentiment are from Crafty Secrets "Card Sentiments Large", foam tape, and the ink from Stampin Up Mossy Meadow  #133645.

 

 

Moving right along, I have another inspired card.  This card was done as a shape card on Pinterest.  I'm not big on shaped cards; although, I will do one every now and then. I didn't like it as a shaped card, so I decided to add a rectangle base.  I also wanted my inside finished.   I used Spellbinder's Radiant Rectangles, baby pink textured card stock from Recollections, White 110# card stock from Recollections, Stampin Up Blushing Bride/Pretty in Pink inks, Wild Orchid Craft flowers rose buds, foam tape, and JustRite Stampers "Ever After Antique Labels One" clear stamps.

Season's Greeting Card

Hi everyone and Happy Holidays!
     Wow! Can you believe it? It's that time again already.  Yep! It's hustle-bustle time.  Time to get the Christmas Card production line in gear.  This year my goal is to make at least 3 Christmas Cards.  Now I didn't say I was going to send them out, I said I was going to make them (lol).  So far, I'm doing good.  I completed card number one.  I wanted the cards to be clean and simple but with a statement!  Card number one is a clean and simple one and I think the red really makes the statement.
The supplies I used for this card are as follows: Real Red card stock from Stampin Up, JudiKins China Red embossing Glitter, Recollections white cardstock (#65 lb), Stampin up classic ink pads- Handsome Hunter, Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, and Real Red.  I used a DeNami 2012 stamp set; unfortunately, it doesn't have a name.  It come with 4 mini stamps: a pine leaf, holly leaf, holly berries, and a pine cone.  Believe it or not, this was my first time using the stamp set since I purchased it at convention in 2012. If they don't have the stamp set anymore, I'm sure they have put something equally cute in it's place.  DeNami Design always has such cute little stamps and stamp sets for every occasion. The greeting is a retired Stampin Up stamp set called "Peaceful Season".  For the of the card I just repeated the them in two of the corners.

Another Note Card Set and a Shaped Card

Hi y'all,
     Quick post ( I say that every time don't I??).  Finished a couple quickie projects this week that I want to share.  First is a note card set using Spellbinders A2 Valiant Honor die . I am only showing one of the cards (the demo) because I didn't like the way the picture of the set came out (so just imagine 4 more just like the one in the photo below).  I used SU Almost Amethyst card stock and Almost Amethyst classic ink, Recollections white card stock, and Spellbinders Font One - Upper Case.  To glue down all the fine areas I used a Zig 2 way glue Squeeze & Roll pen.  I followed Becca's tutorial, though I had to do a few modifications.  Since they are note cards and I wanted to be able to mail them; I left off the fluff (pearls) and I didn't bother making the box.

 
     Next, is my cute (if I do say so myself...and I do) little shape card.  I am not big on shape cards at all but I really like this die and thought it made a lovely little card.  I used Spellbinders Labels Forty-Two and Labels Forty-Two Decorative Accents dies, SU (2014-2016 In-Colors)  Lost Lagoon classic ink pad and coordinating card stock, the cream card stock is from JoAnn's, the patterned paper is an old Webster's Pages 6x6 pack that had samples from 3 different paper packs (Spring Market, Yacht Club, and Country Estate), the dark green card stock (used leaves) is from my stash, the leaves were punched using the MS rose leaf punch, the rose buds are from Hobby Lobby, the greeting/sentiment stamp is from Crafty Secrets "Grand Greetings", and I popped the center piece up on some mini foam squares.

 

 

Both of these were really quick and very simple cards.  On the "Should I try this Project Scale" I give both an easy to medium minus.  Once again, basically the dies do all the heavy work.

Box with Note Cards set

Hello my crafty friends!
     Today, I am sharing a  little box that I saw on Becca's site Amazing Paper Grace. Her box is just stunning!  I decided that I would do a demo box first (before I jack-up some good card stock).  So I kept my colours really simple and used as much scrap cardstock as I could.  I followed Becca's tutorial on YouTube, you can check it out here. This project also gave me an opportunity to play with my bow maker. The pale greenish-blue card stock is some faux suede paper I have had in my stash for years. The white cardstock is Recollections, the ink is SU Pool Party, the ribbon is from our local specialty craft store Big Mouth Scrappers (Forney, TX) hi ladies!!! The dies I used were Spellbinders Arched Elegance and Arched Elegance Pocket.  I used Scor-Tape for the box construction and my ATG to adhere the panels. The background stamp is my favorite SU stamp "En Francais".  I believe the background stamp is long since been retired but you might be able to find it out there on EBay, Craig's List...one of those type places.  You might even check with a local SU (Stampin' Up!) Demonstrator, they may be able to help you hunt one down (caution it may be a bit pricey).  The cards are really elegant.  The inside of the note card has a liner that is partially attached. You can catch a glimpse in one of the side view photos.  I really like how it turned out.  Now I can make it for-real-real (lol). It took me about 2 hours in total including watching the video and pre-cutting all the pieces.   If I had to say the ease of making this project would be a medium.  The most challenging part is the box lid.  Give it a try!
